Teacher Feature-3rd Grade

In Ms. McCoy’s classroom I found her students having a profound discussion about the literature they had just completed reading. Kamishibai Man is a heartwarming story about a traveling paper theater that was a well loved  form of entertainment for children in Japan-mainly from the 1930’s to the 1950’s. The Kamishibai Man of this story is called simply Jiichan meaning grandpa: he belongs to all children who will listen to his stories. Students’ are learning how to locate clues in the story to infer the authors point of view. WOW! what a fun experience to watch. Good job 3rd graders! I loved listening to you learn! Check the book out sometime and read it again.
