Santa’s Surprise

Two days before the students hung up their book bags and grabbed their snow pants Santa Claus decided to pay a visit to Perkins. Invited by his friend, Mr. Koss, Santa was delighted to receive such a warm reception from the students. He waltzed into Mrs. Bentzinger’s first grade room with a bellowing “HO, HO, HO” igniting a frenzy of laughs, cheers and amazement.

He spent his morning reading to the first grade and kindergarten classes from a book titled Santa Claus Comes to Iowa, which was fitting considering the circumstances of his visit. The students could not contain their excitement; they were buzzing the rest of the day wondering how Mr. Koss could have gotten Santa to come on such short notice. This was a wonderful way start to the children’s holiday break.
