Pulliam Pulls Through

Jeni Pulliam, Perkins’ ELL teacher, walked into the school gymnasium with a look of curiosity and confusion. The entire school was packed into the room and started cheering and clapping as soon as Pulliam walked into the room. Her curious and confused look quickly turned to happiness and excitement when she discovered the meaning of the assembly. Pulliam has been awarded a $1,000 cultural grant for technology by Channel 5 (ABC) News. News anchor Rachel Pierce was there to present the grant, along with the channel’s cameraman. Equipped with a large cardboard check, Pierce presented Pulliam with the grant in front of the student body and staff.

The grant must be applied for, which Pulliam did not long ago, and one is awarded each month. The grant donors search for candidates that are on the cutting edge of technology and its uses in the classroom. Pulliam has been outstanding regarding this aspect. She has been wonderful with integrating technology into her lesson plans, allowing the students to reap the benefits. Now, with the grant awarded, Pulliam can continue her great work and create more learning opportunities for the students.
