Teacher Feature!
Each and every teacher at Perkins Academy gets an A+ in my book! This month though, I would like to spotlight Ms. Mindi McCoy! Ms. McCoy is our Art teacher here at Perkins, and gets our Penguins to open up their imaginations through drawing, painting, cutting, pasting, and so many more fun activities. Her smile is contagious, and the students here couldn’t ask for a better artistic presence! Outside of her daily classroom routine, Ms. McCoy has been working this month with a group of our 5th graders to paint a snow plow for the Des Moines Department of Public Works 13th Annual Snowplow Painting Contest. She led our 5th graders to a first place finish last year, and is looking for another title next Saturday, October 4 at the Downtown Farmer’s Market where the voting takes place. We wish you luck Ms. McCoy, and are thankful for all that you do for our school!
