Kickin’ it with KCCI

Perkins, being the amazing school that it is, was honored on Tuesday morning by KCCI News Channel with the “Read With Me” grant. This grant was awarded to us due to a nomination from one of our students.

The student remains anonymous, which only strengthens the case of Perkins being the best place to learn, considering the student does not care for glory associated with the winning nomination, but instead only strives to be humble and help the school in any way possible; and they did just that.

The grant not only provided Perkins with a celebrity appearance from KCCI’s own Marcus McIntosh, but it also provided our library with $500 to go towards new books, something we can all rejoice in.

Teachers were also given tee-shirts and book marks commemorating the event to hand out to students at the end of the day. This even was just another testament to the greatness of Perkins as a school and community.
