“Hello! My name is Bailey Andreotti and I am the K-2 ELL teacher here at Perkins Elementary! I graduated from the University of South Dakota as a student athlete playing volleyball and obtained my Physical Education teaching license. After moving back to the Des Moines area I decided to go back to school where I completed my Elementary Education and ELL endorsement from Grand View University.
At USD, I met my husband Ricardo. He was also a student athlete playing basketball. We have two children together; a son and a daughter! And I can’t forget about our dog!
I enjoy spending time with my family, being outside, playing competitive volleyball and learning from students about their culture and language!”

I have been working for DMPS as a Bilingual Community Worker since 2007. I was born in Costa Rica and moved to Iowa in 1994 following my mom’s transfer to Pioneer Hi-Bred in Johnston Iowa. My primary language is Spanish but I am also fluent in English. I love to travel and learn as much as I can from all of the different countries our students are from. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, cooking, gardening and taking our dogs for walks.
