The Gift

THANK YOU PARENTS!!  ​​I believe that Perkins parents and educators exemplify perceptible bipartisanship. We are a powerful unit-Team. We make no excuses. Together, we problem solve and find the resources needed to achieve our goals. Why? Because every time we look into the eyes of our children we see a miracle. We know that any one of our children could be the next President, Nobel Prize Winner, Great Athlete, Mathematician or whatever. The point is they all have a gift. In my mind, the question is not can we afford to provide our children the resources to develop their gift. The question is why aren’t we? How can a neighborhood school like Perkins, adapt, persevere, and overcome; but those in power struggle to provide educators the resources to fulfill a child’s dream. I salute the parents and educators at Perkins. I am fortunate to be your principal. I witness miracles everyday.  In the end, it’s not about the numbers; its about relationships. Our children are not a tax or a burden. They are our future. No matter what happens at the legislature, we at Perkins pledge to continue providing our children with a quality education. We will not succumb to the temptations of politics. We will cherish our children’s gift and guide them down the path towards their dreams.
