Combat Hunger

Together We Can Change The World is posted on our Perkins display outside. You will also see it posted in our school cafeteria.  Led by Mrs. Amy Cain, Perkins staff, students, and family members came together on this holiday season to gather food and other resources for Combat Hunger. There are many families who are with out food and toiletries. No problem, Perkins students and families have come together determined to make a difference in the fight to support hungry families this holiday season.  There mission was to provide toilet paper, peanut butter, canned meats, and 100% fruit juice that will help feed the hungry in Des Moines. They were successful, gathering a large amount of items. When the truck came to pick it all up, I heard the driver mutter, “WOW! There are more items collected from elementary schools than any other place we go.” Our Perkins community successfully collected and donated many non-perishable food and toiletries. Great job Perkins!
