Model Urban Demonstration School

There is some exciting news to share with you on the academic future of Perkins. We have been selected to be a model Urban Demonstration School-beginning next year. We are honored to have been chosen to be the pioneers who will pave the way for this exciting academic opportunity. Every day, we begin our morning announcements with, “This is the home of the smartest kids, the best teachers, and the greatest parents in the world.” This is a prevalent in and around our great district. Perkins is the archetypal school of team work. Every day, I witness miracles. It may come from a teacher, a staff support person, a parent, a student, or a combination of all the above. It is those altruistic sacrifices our staff and parents have made for our children that has propelled us into greatness!  Together, you have been crucial to the success of our school that consistently maintains a balance of rigor and fun. We do have wherewithal to take that next step. On February 8, 2016 at 6:30 PM, you are invited to come and learn what it means to be a modern Urban Demonstration School. Mr. Barry Jones, Director of Elementary Schools, will present and answer your questions.
