Perkins Takes 2nd Place At Battle of the Books

This year Perkins had 12 students in grades 3 – 5 participate in  Battle of the Books. Our kids, the Perkins Page Turners, set out at the beginning of the school year to read at least 10 books on the BOB book list and know the titles and authors for all 40 books. Unfortunately, not all 12 students could represent our school in competition.  At the end of February each member of BOB, tested to see who would compete at the next level. On March 23rd, the Perkins Page Turners went on to compete against 8 elementary schools within the district.  It was a close battle of knowing details from the 40 books as well as the titles and authors.  Perkins Page Turners proudly came home with 2nd place in the competition. Kudos to our participants: Aubrey Smith, Sawyer Evans, Henry Godar, Hayat Yimer, Alicia Rus, Cate Bright, Owen Brown, Ian Campbell, Ava Fagan, Ben Lundy, Camille Page, and Augustine Vance.
