My name is Mrs. Jackman and I am a kindergarten teacher at Perkins. I have been teaching at Perkins for 30 years and love it! My husband and I have 2 grown children who live in town. We enjoy BBQ’s and family time with them when we can all work it in. I also enjoy CrossFit, yoga, reading, going out with friends, eating lots of tacos, and entertaining at our home. Perkins is a wonderful school, and I am proud to be a part of its amazing culture.

Welcome to Perkins and Mrs. Lundy’s kindergarten! I have been teaching with Des Moines Schools since 1998 and have been teaching kindergarten at Perkins since 2008. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Teaching Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten Children from Iowa State University, and a Master of Education degree from Grand View University. My husband, Erik works for the City of Des Moines. We have two daughters, Josie (26) and Megan (21). Both girls are proud Perkins graduates! In my spare time, I love to go to movies, read, watch ISU football and basketball, and hang out with my two little dogs, Ruthie and Dolly, family and friends.

Hello! My name is Breya (Bri-uh) Nolan and I am so excited to welcome you to my kindergarten classroom! This will be my first-year teaching and I get to start this new journey at Perkins with you! I graduated from Wartburg College in Waverly, IA in May 2023 with my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. I competed in track and field all 4 years where my main events were high jump and triple jump. I got married before graduation and moved to Des Moines shortly after! When I’m not at school, I love painting, cooking new recipes, watching the Kansas City Chiefs play, and spending time with family. I am overjoyed to get this year started! Let’s go penguins!

Hi there! My name is Abby Winkelbauer and I am a first year teacher excited to be starting at Perkins Elementary. I am a recent graduate of Drake University and am thrilled to be teaching Kindergarten! Outside of teaching I like to read, be outside, watch sports especially Nebraska football, and spend time with my family! I strive to make all students feel accepted, loved, and do their absolute best at all they do. I can’t wait to start teaching and see what my first year brings. Go Penguins!
